About The Band
Started very recently in 2007, and based in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area, The Beachcombers Band is the idea of musician and leader, Dan Lamaestra. A multi-instrumentalist and singer, Dan has been playing music professionally for almost twenty years, whether as a keyboardist in a jazz band, or a guitarist in a rock band, always enjoying a diverse array of musical styles. But no matter how varied his gigs have gotten from time to time, entertaining the audience has always been at the top of his list.
After several years singing and playing in top 40 wedding bands, and doing solo vocal/guitar gigs in local venues, Dan decided it would be loads of fun to expand on the solo act, and create not just any rock band, but a rock and roll band that specialized in the kind of songs that made people happy and relaxed, almost as if they were at the beach!
A classic rock and “beach” rock fan for years, Dan is right at home with this kind of music. Songs by artists like Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, The Eagles, and Van Morrison are included in the band’s set lists, as well as steel band-style songs like “The Hammer”, and “Jamaica Farewell”.
This is a great band for almost any event, whether a outdoor festival or concert, a poolside party, or any other function where the music is there to lift the spirits and inspire the guests to let their hair down and have a fantastic time.
The band is comprised of four instruments: guitar, bass, drums, and lead vocals/keyboard/guitar. The “uniform” consists of tropical shirts, khaki pants, and a selection of cool beachy hats or sunglasses. More formal wear is also an option for those events where being “dressed to the nines” is just as important as getting down and having a cold one….”margaritaville”, anyone?
It is also very easy for this band to add more players, like female vocals, or some really fun sax. Just ask!
We are excited to add just the right touch to your event, and look forward to hearing from you!
